Well, the phone is pretty cool thus far but only time will tell if I really like it. I was so excited that I forgot a few items that aren't probably all that exciting but I thought I would blog about them anyway. Last night I decided to try my hand at making homemade Indian food. When I say Indian food, I mean not Indian with a feather or a baseball bat but Indian with a dot. It turned out pretty good for my first attempt. I tried Channa Marsala which consisted of Garbanzo beans, potatoes, tomatoes, onions and a ton of spice. Spices that I didn't even know existed. The best part was when I threw about a tablespoon of cumin seeds into hot oil. The seeds start popping and send off this amazing smell that is characteristic of Indian food. I think next time, I will use a bit more cumin seed to increase the heat factor. I served it (to myself only) over brown rice. Next time Brad is in town, I will try this dish on him.

Shawn has been sitting at the "allergy" table for the past year and a half at lunchtime at school. Last week Lisa decided that she was going to ask the school nurse if we had any say in the matter and low and behold, Shawn no longer has to sit at the allergy table. That is really big news in our household even if it seem trivial to others! We also found out that Shawn and another kid in his class get additional time in computer lab once a week while the rest of his class is studying their spelling words for the week. The idea in the additional computer class was to challenge Shawn more because he is becoming bored in class. What a brainiac! Unfortunately lately Shawn has been troubled by deep issues. Last night he asked Lisa how he will get to heaven if his body turns into dust. Where does he come up with these things and why does a seven year old have to ponder such issues?

The other item of interest is the movies that follow. Katelyn's first significant crawl. Katelyn is what I would maybe call a bit lazy in the fact that she turns one in about a week and has refused to crawl. She has been getting around by bouncing on her rear-end and it was a major concern for Lisa. Lisa thought that she has a bit of retard in her up to this point. Rest assured, Katelyn can crawl and is developmental sound!

Also, here are a few pictures that most of you have already seen by now......

Here I go again. I don't know if I'm just too busy or plain lazy but I've been horrible at updating this blog as of late. Christmas and New Year flew past us and now we're on the verge of Katelyn's first birthday party next week and pretty soon Shawn's seventh. There really hasn't been anything earth shattering going on with us lately other than trying to keep up with both kids as far as doctor appointments, birthday parties to attend and catering to Katelyn's every whim.

We are going on vacation this year during Shawn's spring break. We finally rented a car for the week; unfortunately my priceline string of great deals ended for this trip. The best price I could get a minivan for a week was $450 plus tax. Typically I get a steal like a Cadillac for $18 a day but it wasn't to be this time around. I'm really looking forward to the time away this year. I'm planning a deep sea fishing trip, Lisa is planning a dolphin excursion and possibly a spring training game but other than that, a whole lot of relaxation. I can't wait.

On the work front, we are staying busier than usual this time of year. Trying to market smarter and differently than in the past to spur off-season growth. Seems like we're always in some kind of meeting. With the economy in what looks like a downturn, we need to figure out a way to sustain our current level of sales and doing some new things during off-peak should help out. I'm also getting my fifth smart phone in the past 6 months.

First I had a Palm 650p and it just died on my so I went with the 700w which also had a mind of it's own. Seems like the 700w decided when it wanted to turn off or turn off or not do either. I was constantly removing the battery to reboot. I then went to a Blackberry 8830 which I actually love but due to us migrating to a Microsoft active sync web-based email arrangement, I can no longer receive my email with the Blackberry without investing about $4k on a dedicated Blackberry server. Seems like such a pain! I ordered a HTC Touch. My boss has one currently and loves it. Hopefully the new phone fixes all my issues. The new phone has touch screen capabilities that are similar to the Apple iphone. Stay tuned to see it he ongoing saga of the crappy smart phone continues......

I gotta run....my new phone just arrived and I'm like a little kid in a candy store right about now.
