So it's the week of birthday parties. Shawn had his birthday party with his classmates on Tuesday at Monkey Jump. What a fiasco that was!! I never thought it would be that difficult to control 17 five year olds. Of course most of the parents merely dropped their kids off and then took off themselves. The state inspectors were also doing their facility check during the party so we had to follow ALL the rules. I can't believe there are actual laws dealing with large inflatable kids toys but there are and we got busted a few times. What are they going to do? Ticket a 5 year old!

Shawn was also off school for intersession Monday through Wednesday so Lisa took him and his friend Logan to the zoo on Tuesday during the tropical heat wave we were having. Friday we are taking Shawn out to dinner for his birthday and Saturday is his family party.

I forgot how much work a baby can be. Katelyn is either eating, sleeping, pooping or crying. I don't think she likes me much. She was crying last night while Lisa went to dinner with a friend. I couldn't figure what Katelyn wanted....fed her, changed her and was even holding here. I just couldn't get her to stop that annoying baby cry. In walks Lisa and the crying stops! Guess she just has the magic touch.

Other than baby stuff, not really much to report.

Oh yea, I have lost a total of 14 pounds on my crazy 1200 calorie a day diet and I've done it in
2 1/2 weeks! At this rate, I will be able to wear my thong bikini by mid summer. On the subject of dieting, if anyone has either any good vegetarian or low cal recipes that are good (that is an oxymoron isn't it), feel free to send them my way.

Here are a couple of pictures:

We went to Cleveland last weekend for a visit. It was a totally lazy relaxing weekend except for the occasional whine from Shawn saying he was bored and wanted to go to the hotel. Sunday we ended up at South Park Mall in Strongsville to wander around and stumbled upon an area in the mall that they had bungee/trampoline contraptions set up. Shawn begged and pleaded to take a turn and of course we caved. It looked like a blast. Shawn had a tough time figuring out when to jump and you really had to pull on the bungee cords at the right time to get maximum air. He had a blast!

I also went to the doctor last week for my bi-annual cholesterol and liver enzyme check. Of course my blood pressure has been creeping up on my over the past 2 years or so but it's still not in the range where it's time to treated it. So as the Doc and I were talking, he convinced me to go on the same diet that he went on to lose 90 lbs in about 9 months. So here I am limiting myself to 1200 calories or less a day without starving. So far, which has only been 9 days, it hasn't been too bad. I found that you can eat a ton of vegetables, broths and mix in some fish or chicken and feel pretty full. I have lost 11 lbs so far. If anyone knows of some really good low calorie recipes loaded with vegetables pass them along. Major staples have been chicken boobies, cabbage soup and homemade salsas. My goal is 50 pounds in 6 months which the doctor said is totally fine and possible.

Katelyn is beginning to figure out her days and nights finally. She is napping most of the day until about 6pm then stays awake till about 11pm. She typically wakes up for feeding about 2am and then about 6:30am. Hopefully soon she will figure out that she should be awake in the afternoon and go to sleep about 9pm but Lisa is starting to get a little more sleep. I can't believe that Katelyn starts daycare in less than two weeks and Lisa will be back at work.

Next week Shawn has the week off (intersession week). He will keep Lisa busy next week. He has a birthday party with his school friends on Thursday; it looks like we have about 9 girls and 3 boys coming so far. Shawn definitely takes after his dad...a real ladies man! (feel free to laugh now). Saturday we have family coming to the house to celebrate his birthday. Should be a busy week.

Sorry I haven't posted may pictures (or any) pictures of Katelyn lately. I will have to take a few and post them soon.
