Katelyn had another pediatrian appointment today. She is doing fine and is a full 2 pounds heavier than her birthwieght (9 lbs 7 oz. now) and is one inch longer (21 inches now). She is also in the 80 percentile for both weight and height at this point in the game. Shawn by comparison was off the charts.

Tonight we are going to a family fun night at Shawn's school/the church. I'm not sure it's going to be too much fun but I guess there is a Mardi Gras theme and a whole lot of the official Catholic game...Bingo for family prizes. Should be interesting if nothing more.

Shawn has finally decided on a place for his "school birthday party". It going to be at Monkey Jump. Monkey Jump is basically a big inflatable playground inside a large converted warehouse; it's all the rage for the 6 year old crowd! He is inviting his entire class of 22! Maybe sweet Delaney will give him a birthday smooch!

Not much of anything else going on. I think we are going to have a nice quiet weekend and do some catching up on the housework. Hope you all have a good weekend.

Not too much happening lately. My mom and brother came to visit this past weekend. We didn't really have too much on the agenda except to just hang out and relax while catering to Katelyn. It was nice to have mom around and she help a lot with Katelyn's early morning feedings. On Sunday we loaded up the van and took a trip to Ikea and Trader Joe's in the Ann Arbor area. We didn't buy much at Ikea but did a little damage at Trader Joe's. I tend to reload on 3 Buck Chuck every time I get to the Ann Arbor area.

Lisa had a rough time last night so I took Katelyn's 7am feeding and got her back to sleep before I got Shawn ready for School. When we left, Lisa was still in bed and Katelyn was still fast asleep. I hope Lisa gets some sleep!!! I have a dentist appointment this morning and I have a funny feeling that it's not going to be a fun one. My teeth are killing me lately. I probably have a couple of cavities. I just hate the dentist!!!

Happy V.D. Day!!!
(hope you don't have one)

And so it starts. Sunday night around 8pm the phone rings and Lisa answers. On the other end of the line is Delaney, a little girl from Shawn's kindergarten class, asking very politely to speak with Shawn. After about a 30 second exchange of pleasantries in which Shawn explained that his Dad was struggling to get a Spongebob DVD started in his PC they said goodnight to each other and then hung up the phone. Apparently Shawn and Delaney exchanged phone numbers at school and must be quite the "couple". I really hope this isn't a sign of things to come. Aren't 5 year old boys still supposed to think that girls are "gross"?

Doh!!!
The past four days have been crazy. Picked up Lisa and Katelyn from the hospital on Wednesday morning, stopped by work to pick up our laptops and show off our little girl. My Mom, sister and brother were in town so we had some lunch and gave them all their Katelyn fix and they took off for home. That's when all hell broke loose.

Actually before my family left, we found out that our drain line on the washing machine froze up. We found out the hard way of course while doing the laundry. I was finally able to thaw the drain by dumping boiling water down the drain and siphoning the water back out several times. I'm glad that I wasn't siphoning gasoline because I think I drank about a pint of nasty laundry soap infused water. To say the least, the whole process took some time and made a mess. Having to mop up the mess was probably a blessing in disguise since I was overdue to mop the tile flooring in the house anyway.

After cleaning the mess, we ran some errands. Picked up Shawn from school, picked up some dog food and ran to Walmart to pick up our pictures. On the way to the vet to pick up dog food, I got rear-ended at a stop light. No damage to either cars but I was about to throw down with the idiot that hit us. Katelyn was only about 2 days old and she has been in her first car accident (she slept through the entire ordeal).

Thursday was like Groundhog Day! Drain froze up again! I didn't check the drain before we started laundry again and boom, the mess happened all over again. Got the drain thawed again, cleaned up the mess and then I went car shopping.

The Toyota Sienna was ready to turn in on lease in 10 days so I went out to the Dodge Dealer and replaced it with a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan. We had the 2000 version of the Caravan before but this is totally different. It has the stow-n-go seating, DVD player, Sirius satellite radio, 6 discs changer power doors and tailgate and a whole bunch more gadgets that will need fixing. I'm gonna sound really old but I love that mini-van!

Katelyn had a doctor's appointment today to check on what was a slight issue with jaundice and for a weight check (everything went fine). Lisa and Katelyn are now taking a nap.

That's all I've got for now. Have a great weekend everyone!!!

It's a Girl!!!
Big brother Shawn has a new sister. Katelyn Ann was born on Monday February 5th at 7:15 pm. She weighed 7 lbs, 9 oz. Katelyn's Dad however is a bonehead and forgot to bring the camera home to upload pictures but the picture will be forthcoming. Both Mom and Baby are doing very well.

I wish there was baby news to report but as of this point, only very mild and irregular contractions.

Not too much new to report as of late. I did buy an elliptical machine. I decided it was time to get back my girlie figure and to get a decent cardio work out. I have been spending about 20 minutes every other day on the contraption and have lost zero (yes 0) weight so far but have been getting a pretty decent work out. I am probably going to bump up to 20 minutes everyday starting yesterday to see if I can kick start my metabolism. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on my first elliptical not knowing if I would like it; I do like it. Here is a picture:The snow has been falling all week for the first time this winter. I can't believe that it is the beginning of February. I sure hope February is a better month than January was.
